Dragonfly Bracelet

Katie loved dragonflies.  Did she know their meaning? 

Symbolism associated with dragonflies includes … Renewal; a positive force; the power of life. A sense of self that comes with maturity. Change. A dragonfly lives a short life; it knows it must live life to the fullest in the short time it has. In Japan, a dragonfly symbolizes a new light and joy. The dragonfly represents good luck, prosperity, swiftness, purity, harmony, and strength. Some Native Americans believe that dragonflies are souls of the dead. Many cultures believe that the dragonfly represents happiness, courage, and subconscious thoughts. If two dragonflies are seen paired together, they represent love and maturity. The dragonfly has been a symbol of happiness, new beginnings, and change for many centuries and while its representation seems to vary among cultures, similarities in their meaning remain constant: hope, change, and love. Light-bearer. The colors dragonflies display are a result of reflecting and refracting light.  Dragonflies are reminders that we are light and can reflect it in powerful ways if we choose to do so.  “Let there be light” is the divine prompting to use the creative imagination as a force within our lives.
